Kaïss
To my people: "Art possesses more power
than arms."
Kaïss was born
and raised in an old district of Baghdad that typifies a blend of Arab,
Kurdish and Persian influences enhanced by the traces of Asian and Indian
civilizations under the effects of the silk trade route. Now living in
Paris, he has drawn from the Western music that surrounds him and injected
into his own compositions an air of jazz and flamenco, producing his unique
eclectic sound of East meets West.
Kaïss is currently seeking production for the next full length release, and an agency for Europe and global distribution of their current release "Bagdad Paris Leïla."
